Three-D Teaching and Learning: Discussion, Dialogue, and Deliberation

The Democracy Project works in partnership with the American Association for Higher Education (AAHE) on a web-based Community of Practice on Three-D Teaching and Learning: Discussion, Dialogue, and Deliberation.

This interactive web site contains resources, discussion boards, links, announcements, and an opportunity to share ideas and concerns with others who share an interest in democratic dialogue in higher education.

To access the site, go to webcenter.aahe.org/chef/portal. (You can also go to the main page, www.aahe.org and click "Communities of Practice.") Click on the "create a new account" button. Fill in all fields by creating a unique user ID and password and entering your contact information. Once you click submit, you'll be directed to your own workspace in the AAHE WebCenter entitled "My Workspace."

To join the Democratic Dialogue COP, click the "Membership" button to the left, check the box next to the Democratic Dialogue COP description, and click "join" at the bottom of the page. A new tab will appear at the top of your screen, entitled Democratic Dialogue COP. By clicking this tab, you will be in the site.

You can easily "unjoin" so don't feel that this is a permanent arrangement if you join just to check it out. To unjoin, go to My Workspace and then unclick the box for the DD COP.
